Hedging and Pruning

Pruning is the removal in part, of a plant or tree, to shape or to encourage it to grow in a desired way. Pruning techniques differ from plant species to plant species. Pruning on a minor scale can be done at any time when required. However any major pruning is better to be done when the plant is least active or dormant.

Hedging and Pruning Tips

Hedging is a continuous and closely spaced row of plants, usually of the same species. Most hedges are clipped or shaped to achieve a desired effect and appearance. Although requiring a lot of maintenance they can provide a high degree of privacy. The hedging affect can also be achieved by dense foliaged trees/plants or shrubs and therefore do not require the high maintenance of clipping.
